K This means no chemicals
Q : I would like to match some tape extensions to my clip ins, are you the same company as Foxylocks UK
A : No we are two different companies, just coincidently we both named our business Foxy Locks, but I can try and help you match up colours.
Q : Where do foxylocks Hair Extensions come from?
A : I strictly only source top Quality Remy human hair Extensions, which is Indian hair only. My hair extensions are cuticle correct, which means all cuticles are falling in the same direction. This ensures your extensions are tangle free, silky smooth at all times. I do not use or mix any common human hair, animal hair, synthetic hair or silicone coating in my hair extensions. My hair is carefully lightened to ensure the cuticles remain 100% intact. Only the most healthiest virgin pony tails are chosen to ensure that only superior cuticle hair is produced. My luxury hair has its full cuticle and is produced using the green process. This means no chemicals in the cleaning process which makes it susceptible to damage. Then a very slow process in lightening the hair.
Q : What is the difference between Remy human hair and non-Remy human hair?
A :Extensions made from Remy human hair have all of the cuticles running in the same direction, which is the key to making the hair soft, beautiful, silky and tangle-free. Non-Remy human hair, also known as "fallen hair," is collected from various donors and therefore has no cuticle alignment. The roots and tips are all mixed up. As a result, tangling is a problem as the opposing cuticle layers catch on each other. There are two main types of non-Remy hair: normal and tangle-free. The normal non-Remy human hair has cuticles present, but they are not aligned, causing hair breakage and tangling. The tangle-free non-Remy human hair goes through an acid bath, removing all the cuticles, thus reducing friction. Then a silicon is applied to make the hair look more natural. But this process is short-lived and usually leaves the hair dull, dry and frizzy after only a few wears and washes.
Q : How are the Tape Hair Extensions applied?
A : At Foxylocks Hair Extensions, my strip is light and graceful making it feel so comfortable that it will feel like you are not even wearing the extensions in your hair, but it is also durable and is anti shedding. Each tape bond is only 4cm x 0.8cm in size. The way they are applied in your hair is that I will section your hair and your natural hair in between 2 tape extension pieces. It is then sealed with a touch of heat from a GHD.
Q : Why Tape Hair Extensions?
A : What is amazing about Tape Hair Extensions is that they are reusable. This means after every 6-8 weeks of wear, you will need to perform maintenance where the extensions are taken out with solution , remove the old tape, re tape and re-apply your extensions. There should be quite a few additional re-applications providing good care & maintenance of extensions is followed. I have 8 different tapes so a different one to suit the individual.
Q : what colour should I choose?
A : When choosing a colour you need to match it to your mid lengths and ends not to your roots as that colour may be different. You will need to opt for a colour that will blend with your current colour. You may always email me and I will assist you in your choice. You can alway email me a photo and I will recommends which colour would suit you best. But do remember that a colour may look different on monitors.
Q : I ordered the wrong colour can I change them
A : Yes as long as they haven't been removed from the packaging, altered in any way, used in the hair and the packaging is in its original condition I am happy to change or refund. Once I have received them back, I suggest you send them express as you can track them, you just need to inclose an express satchel for me to repost a new set and I will send them back out to you or refund if you no longer require them.
Q : How long will my hair extensions last?
A : Everybody is different, depending on climate, water, products used, care for the hair, brushing, using blow dryers and hot irons, colours, swimming, how often washed, etc. Tape Hair Extensions require maintenance every 4-10 weeks depending on how fast your own hair grows and the length of your own hair. They can last 6-12+ months.
Q: How often do I need to brush my hair extensions?
A : It is important to always brush your extensions before shampooing, sleep and in the morning when you wake up to style your hair. When brushing your hair, start from the bottom and work your way up while holding the top part to keep it from pulling. Try not to pull your hair hard with a brush, always a good tip to hold your hair in a ponytail and always start from the bottom and then get higher up the hair. Section your hair so you know you have covered all areas. Don't forget the underneath
It is important that you have soft bristle brush that will brush over the tapes to ensure there is no knotting in between the two tapes. Remember when your hair has cuticles it needs to be brushed more often.
Q : Can I colour my hair extensions
A : Yes they can be coloured or permed just like your own hair, but I cannot guarantee chemist bought products. A more gentle salon semi colour with low ammonia is much better for the hair. They are not recommended to be lightened or bleached., but because of the gentle process it went through at the factory, it is possible. Only a trained hairdresser should preform any chemical processes. Always proceed with caution and always do a strand test first.
Q : how long does my hair have to be
IA : It is best to have at least 4-5" on the top layer, but the longer your own hair is the better the extensions blend. You can still have extensions in shorter hair but it may take a little extra work to hide the join, and it is best not to keep the extensions too long.
Q :WHAT KIND OF PRODUCTS CAN BE USED IN HAIR EXTENSIONS
A : High quality moisturising products and creams are highly beneficial to keep the hair extensions strong and hydrated. Serums that provide some heat protection and leave in conditioner products are also extremely advantageous. Hair spray and gels can be used just like in regular hair, providing you wash the hair with the same kind frequency in which you normally wash your own hair. Try not to use products with a high alcohol content as it will dry the extensions. Do not use protein products as that will also cause the extensions to dry and may cause matting. Don"t use shampoos with silicon as it may cause the extensions to slip. Do not use anti dandruff products as they can also break down the glue causing the extensions to slip You have spent good money on your extensions so to get the most out of them it is best to use high quality products
Q : I have seen Extensions cheaper elsewhere will you price match?
There is a huge difference between the quality of extensions out on the market. Because I import my extensions I keep the price as low as possible and the quality the best that is available. For extensions it really is true that get what you pay for. If the extensions look quite shinny its a good guess that its coated with silicon, then after a few washes the truth is shown. I have seen other peoples extensions after only 2 washes matt and have to be removed.
Remember before you buy 100% human hair normally mean Chinese. Euro grade can also just be Chinese with cuticles removed Euro texture the same. Even Russian hair is so rare that you will be paying a premium for it so if its too cheap then it won't be Russian, it is more likely to come from Uzbekistan which is still very dark. When we talk about Russian hair we think of the slavic blondes, but this hair is only for the very wealthy. The same goes for Brazilian hair. While Brazilian hair does exist, it is extremely hard to find and extremely expensive at that. One reputable vendor closed up a few years ago because of lack of supply and the costs of acquiring the hair. Brazil has one of the most booming, emerging economies in the world. It is currently at number 7 in the world economy . Women are not desperate to sell their hair for money. Indian hair is Temple hair so it has been donated to the temples. The temples raise millions of dollars each year by collecting and selling it on. The money is then used to maintain dozens of foundation and charities and local development projects within the local communities. Even if it says Remy it doesn't always mean it has many cuticles, My hair is 100% Indian Remy with 100% cuticles intact
Q : Is there anything special I should do before having the extensions applied or moved up.
Wash your hair to make sure there is no oil or product build up where the extensions are going to be applied to. Do not use any conditioner or product near the scalp area. Dry and straighten your hair. I can do all this for you but it will add cost, just let me know so I can allow for the extra time needed.
How to test you have cuticle aligned hair
1. On damp hair use approximately the thickness of 3 spaghetti strand. Run your finger and thumb fairly rapidly down the strands of hair from roots to ends, it will travel quite smoothly. If you do the same thing in the opposite direction from ends to roots it will feel rough, and have a bit of friction. Don't get discouraged with this method, keep trying, you will begin to feel the difference after you've done it a few times.
This test can also be performed on dry hair, but you must keep your fingers moist, this can't be overstated enough when testing on dry hair. On some hair it may feel like both directions are smooth. When this happens close you eyes and run your fingers going in each direction again. With your eyes closed you will be able to feel how one direction of the hair is slightly harder to run your fingers down smoothly.
Remember, the smooth side is going down, the rough side is going up. The smooth side is what you will work with, as this is the direction of natural growing hair. If this does not happen you most likely do not have cuticles in the hair.
